Even if your mind is full…

I like this quote it kind of resonates with me. My mind is always full. The past week or two I haven’t been sleeping very well and I keep waking up every few hours with thoughts rushing through my head pointlessly. These thoughts numb my mind like I have no control over them.

As a result I thought I might start practicing meditating. It’s quite difficult but I can just about manage to have a clear head and listen to my surroundings. It’s quite calming as it teaches you to kind of live in the moment as well as feel it. Give it a go and let me know how you get on in the comments below! 😊

  1. I’ve done some meditation, and I’ve also practiced other mindfulness exercises. I find it helpful to focus my eyes on something – like a candle flame. As I do these exercises, I do my best to acknowledge my thoughts without attaching to them. When I’m successful, it’s really helpful.

I do find that sometimes when I get overstimulated, it has to do a lot with internal stimulation, and then the external stimulation just adds to it. Mindfulness can help me lesson the internal stimulation that my thoughts contribute to, and potentially make it easier to cope with what’s happening externally.

  2. I am trying to find the time to do a bit of that too because I have meditated regularly in the past and found it really helpful. I just try and get ten minutes in on the way to work in the train now – you can do it anywhere once you get the hang of it. I hope you find it really helpful too.

  3. Every time I’ve tried to meditate by repeating a mantra or focusing on my breath, I fall asleep. I do much better with guided meditations, or ones of movement (like a walking meditation). From everything I’ve ever read or heard about meditation, it is extremely beneficial for our mind, body, and soul.

  4. That’s a great idea! I’ve been meditating for years. Whenever your thoughts come let them come and go and return to your breath. I use music. I light a candle. Sometimes I chant. There’s no wrong or right way. Just be gentle with yourself and start small, maybe 5 minutes. Sometimes I say a mantra in my head or out loud. When I’m done I feel so good. Good luck.
    Namaste☺
