Bargain Ear Defenders!

IMG_1969

I was shopping in TKMaxx a couple of weeks ago and spotted these in the DIY/Tool section. I naturally got excited about them! I had been sharing some ‘Kidz’ (see previous post on ear defenders earlier on in my blog) ear defenders with my brother but they were getting too small and were squeezing my glasses into my face at the sides!

Anyway these are awesome and block out sound so I can actually think! Especially useful for writing when it gets noisy at home or if I need to concentrate on a task. When I was interning in London at the start of summer (again see my previous internship post!) the main manager/founder of the company would come in in the morning and sit with ear defenders on all day long! Makes me feel a bit better that other people find them beneficial 🙂

Have you got ear defenders? Do you find them useful? Let me know in the comments below!

HeadSpace Review

Headspace

HeadSpace is a free meditation app which is available on Apple and Android devices as well as the Amazon app store. Its an american subscription service but I have downloaded the 10 day free trial which includes the classic Take10 programme with animations which are free to use. Reading about mindfulness meditation it can apparently help alleviate, reduce and eradicate stress and anxiety and improve relationships, creativity and focus. I listen to the app while lying flat on my bed usually at night time (helps calm me down and reduce the noise and anxiety buzzing around my head so I can sleep better) but it can be good to listen to a meditation session before getting up in the morning too. Check out the website here: www.headspace.com. Download the app, give it a go and let me know what you think!

Starry Nights

I was bought the fantastic Innoo Tech LED Star Night Light Projector Lamp (available to buy here) and it has been the best sensory present I’ve had in a while! It can be plugged into a USB mains plug or can be a standalone unit with batteries inside it. I up to my bedroom and plug it in next to me and my entire room fills with stars across my ceiling and walls. Its super therapeutic and calming to lie under. The unit has two modes – gold stars or a changing colour star mode – I tend to stick with the golden star mode as the colourful mode is quite jazzy! Its inexpensive at around £7.99 and I highly recommend it.
